Professional Experience
AmeriCorps ABLE, University at Buffalo Honors College (2011-2012)
·         As an AmeriCorps ABLE Service-Learning Liaison for the University at Buffalo Honors College I worked simultaneously as an assistant instructor for service-learning seminars, picking readings and preparing lesson plans, and as community relations specialist, organizing and implementing volunteer projects and events for the department. 

Huntington Learning Centers, SAT Verbal & Writing, English Teacher (2011-2012)
·         Teaching English-language arts, comprehension, reasoning and writing to high school students I work toward improvement in both their academics and SAT scores.

UB Honors College Colloquium- Service-Learning Teaching Assistant (2009-2011)
·         Leading my own class of twenty-five students through readings and lessons each week, I utilized the Inquiry Method facilitating discussions on privilege, structural inequality, political systems and civic engagement.  

Hon. Federal Senator Schumer’s Office (2011)
·         As an intern for Senator Schumer’s office I began by organizing all regional press involving the senator but eventually moved on to writing economic impact memos for the office.  One report on the nuclear cleanup at West Valley earned me the designation as the Senator’s representative to the West Valley Nuclear Cleanup.

Orleans County District Attorney’s Office (2010)
·         I assisted the District Attorney in a number of interesting homicide cases, primarily conducting legal research but also by organizing documents for court and preparing discoveries for the Defense.

Literature for Miniatures (LFM) (2008-2011)
·         I co-founded LFM as a sophomore and acted as a director and tutor of the literacy program, operating weekly in an urban public elementary school, through my graduation.  

Buffalo.com YourHub Student Journalist (2007-2008)
·         As a student “citizen journalist” I wrote a variety of different articles for the website; including movie reviews, concert reviews, speeches, and sporting events.
